The current federal government shutdown means all U.S. national parks are operating with skeleton crews. While visitors can still enter and enjoy the park, visitor centers, restrooms and other facilities are closed. According to Mother Nature Network, to be a good citizen on the trail, whether it's for a mile-long loop or a week-long trek, the principles of ethical wilderness still apply--even during a government shutdown.
