In this landscape photography vlog, it’s an early start to catch the sunrise. I drive east to a location called Iceberg Lagoon. Where large icebergs that have broken off the glacier slowly float down the lagoon to where it meets the sea. Not having much experience with shooting icebergs, I explore the shore of the lagoon to find a simple composition made up of layers, ice in the foreground, large icebergs in the mid ground and the mountains providing an breathtaking backdrop. Using the Nikon 70-200mm lens to get in tight to the ice formations, I add a polariser to cut out the glare from the surface of the water and a 6 stop Lee Filter Little Stopper to slow down the shutter, removing the ripples and smoothening out the water.It was so calm and peaceful. I then walk across to the beach side where the icebergs floated out and are then pushed back to the shore by the waves. I explore interesting the shapes and compositions along the black sand shore. Again I use a 6 stop Lee Filter Little Stopper, on my Nikon 24-70mm, to slow things down and capture a majestic ice seascape.
